You Want Fresh Air? Chinese Firm Now Sells Cans Of Fresh Air To Willing Buyers

A Chinese firm is making brisk business selling cans of fresh air bottled in a forest in western China for 48 yuan (6.95 dollars).

According to reports by Shaanxi media, each bottle is good for two minutes of uninterrupted use.

From air-filter necklaces to anti-smog stockings, Chinese companies are touting innovative, if not odd, products to consumers worried about the quality of the air that they breathe.

“We set up a factory in Ningdong Forest Park in Shaanxi province and compress air directly into the bottle,” said Zhai Wenjun, sales manager at Sanqin Forest Industry, which is backed by the local Taibai Forestry Bureau.

“Consumers will feel like they are breathing in the forest,” Zhai said. Inspite of widespread criticism on China’s Twitter-like microblog Weibo, Shaanxi media reported that the first batch of Qinling Forest Oxygen-Enriched Air had been sold out.

“The air reminds me of the forest,” said a user on Taobao, China’s most popular consumer-to-consumer online shopping website, adding that the price is “reasonable”. Zhai refused to disclose sales data to Reuters, saying it is a business secret.

“As the price is a bit high, we suggest customers use it little by little,” said Zhai. Meanwhile, a firm backed by e-commerce giant JD.com is selling necklaces with micro air filters priced at 699 yuan.

At the close of the annual meeting of parliament on Wednesday, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang, said air pollution must be brought under control and blue skies should never be a luxury.

Smog alerts are common in northern China, especially during bitterly cold winters when pollution masks are frequently out of stock.

Heavy Traffic As Benue State Youths Protest Continuous Killings By Fulani Herdsmen

Hundreds of aggrieved youths today, barricaded some roads in Benue State to protest against incessant killings by Fulani herdsmen.

No fewer than 10 persons were killed and several others injured after suspected herdsmen attacked Mkgovur village in Buruku Local Government Area of the state last Friday.

It was gathered that herdsmen forcefully entered the village to graze on farmlands but were resisted by the youths. They left only to mobilise and returned to the village in large numbers shooting sporadically and chasing everyone from their homes.

Army Identifies A Town In Borno Where Residents Hide Boko Haram Members

The Nigerian Army has accused members of Magumeri town, in Magumeri local government area of Borno State, of collaborating and harboring some Boko Haram members in their community.

Recall that the community came under serious attacks by the sect members yesterday evening but was repealed by the troops of 8 Task Force Division, Operation Lafiya Dole.

The sect members had attempted to kill residents of the community and set it ablaze but they were repealed by the troops in the community In a statement released today, the Director Army Public Relation, Brig. General Sani Usman, says preliminary investigations into the attack have shown that the sect members that carried out the attacks lived within the community and are well known to the people.

Usman says because of the seeming collaboration between residents of the community and the sect members, the community have never come under any attack until yesterday.

“While troops are still consolidating and mopping up, it is imperative to state that preliminary investigation shows that the attackers of Magumeri came from the same community. The terrorists that attacked the village are well known to the people.

It should also be noted that the village was never attacked throughout the period of the insurgency for some inexplicable reasons. The terrorists and their collaborators hibernating in the area were never exposed. There seems to be unholy alliance between the terrorists and the villagers.

Consequently, we are constrained to state that it’s now high time for the people to take up the fight themselves and help the Nigerian military and other security agencies to protect them. It is a grievous mistake and criminal offence to continue to shield or harbour any known Boko Haram terrorist in their midst.”

Usman described terrorists as inhuman and barbaric and should always be exposed.

“It is imperative that all communities in the North East especially Borno State, should fully cooperate with the military and the security agencies by exposing Boko Haram terrorists in their respective towns and villages,” he said.

Popular Muslim Lecturer Plans To Take TB Joshua To Court For Saying Jesus Christ Is God

A popular Islamic lecturer, author and speaker, Sheikh Hussaini Yusuf Mabera, has threatened to take renowned Nigerian Pastor T.B. Joshua to court.

According to a fiery Facebook post on 13th March 2017, the pastor’s crime lies in the fact that he regularly describes Jesus Christ as God.

“I am filing a case to the Federal High Court of Nigeria against Pastor T.B. Joshua and co-pastors for speaking a lie against Jesus Christ by calling him God,” Sheikh Mabera began in a Facebook post which soon went viral.

Admitting that he regularly watched Joshua’s popular television channel Emmanuel TV, the Nigerian Islamist continued.

“I was completely aghast when I heard the ‘so-called’ Prophet T.B. Joshua of Emmanuel TV calling Jesus God in the presence of thousands of his audience, among whom were professors, doctors, reverend fathers and mothers, pastors and bishops.”

He added that, from his own research, the Bible itself is replete with evidence contradicting the deification of Jesus Christ. Sheikh Mabera, who has a school where he trains other Muslims in the art of defending their faith, continued by concluding T.B. Joshua and his ilk lack “proper understanding” of Scriptural truths.

“As I was watching T.B. Joshua speaking through Emmanuel TV and his audience helplessly watching and listening to his accumulated lies and unfounded praise-singing directed at Jesus, I almost cried with automatic alacrity when he said that Jesus is Almighty God.

My conclusion was that both TB Joshua and other Christians actually read their Bible without proper understanding of what they are reading.”

The fiery Islamic advocate then quoted several Scriptures to support his claims that Jesus Christ was a “servant of God”, not God Himself.

“There are millions of facts from the Scriptures and other rational facts that authentically proved that Jesus does not have even the least qualification of being God,” he opined.

Mabera ended his post by declaring Joshua was “deceiving and misguiding” his “innocent followers” with “preposterous lies”.
“Let us meet in the court of law and debate it out.

Enough is Enough,” the statement on Facebook ended.

According to information available online, Yusuf Mabera has debated several Christian clerics on various topics, regularly traversing the shores of Nigeria with his message.

Stop Deceiving The World With His Anti-Corruption Posture – Fayose Blasts Obasanjo

The Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has told former President Olusegun Obasanjo to stop deceiving the world with his anti-corruption posture.

The governor said the former president lacked moral rights to accuse anyone of corruption, challenging him to explain to Nigerians the source of his wealth.

He was reacting to comment credited to Obasanjo that African leaders should ensure that treasury looters were exposed and that former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mohammed Adoke, should stop mentioning his name in the controversial $1.09bn Malabu Oil deal.

Fayose, in a press release issued on Thursday by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, challenged the former president to rather explain to Nigerians the source of his wealth.

Ali Baba Reacts To The N49m Found At Kaduna Airport

Veteran comedian Ali Baba has reacted to the 49 million naira found concealed in sacks at Kaduna airport.

The ace comedian who is known to be a concerned Nigerian wrote:

Sometime ago, I wrote about how cash movement drove up the exchange rate of the dollar. I smiled when I saw this. Not because it is amusing, but because I know that bit by bit, we will get it right.

Remember when there was no BVN, monies will leave government accounts and enter a non government account and disappear. No traces. But not anymore.

In fact you will be amazed at the number of abandoned accounts that people have refused to verify. They can not link those accounts to their BVN.

Yawa will gas. So what have they resorted to? They have resorted to hiding the monies in soak aways, Graves and tombs, abandoned buildings, etc. Trust me, if that money had been converted to dollars, one hand bag or hand luggage is all it would have required.

And again, do you know how much of such cash movement helicopters have done across the country? But instead of how to make laws to check all these, it’s uniform of the CG of customs that is the problem. What laws have been made stem the onslaught of piracy and kidnapping? Or to check corruption.

WAEC Promises To Release Results 60 Days After Exams| Is It Possible?

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced that the results of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), will now be released 60 days after the exams.

The Head of National Office, WAEC in Nigeria, Olu Adenipekun, stated this during the Council’s 65th anniversary celebration, which began on Thursday in Lagos.

He said the waiting days will now be 60 days as against the usual 90 days.

“All hands must be on deck to ensure that the innovation, tagged: `Project 60’, is effective from this year.

“For sometimes now, we normally use about 90 days, from the day of the last paper of the examination to release the result.

“For the past 15 months, when I assumed office as the HNO in Nigeria, we have been working to reduce that `waiting period’ by 50 per cent.

“Thisis what initially brought about what we had also called `Project 45’ but we want to take it gradually,” Adenipekun said.

He added that the Council was working on releasing results within 45 days after the last paper is taken.

“This may also come as good news for our current SSS 3 students, who are about to write the 2017 WASSCE.

“Basically there is need for our SSS 3 students to be happy because they are our principal stakeholders.

“I am sure reducing the waiting period will even make them happier,” he said.

Marco Verratti Reveals What Barca Players Told Him Before Their Historic Comeback

Paris Saint Germain midfielder Marco Verratti has revealed that Barcelona players had already conceded defeat before their historic victory against the Ligue 1 champions.

The Catalan giants were trailing by four to nothing against PSG which looked like a huge mountain to climb with hopes of qualifying to the next round dwindling but shocked the footballing world when they stormed their opponents with six goals to claim a rare victory against Paris Saint Germain.

Marco Verratti who was part of the losing team on the night has now claimed that even the Barca stars never knew they could recover from their first leg deficit.

He told L’Equipe: ‘With Cavani’s goal, we gained some peace,

‘I then spoke to the players of the Barca, they told me that it was finished.

‘Take three goals in seven minutes, I cannot find an explanation, it’s football.

‘This is a game I will never forget. I hope it will serve as a lesson to everyone.

‘The qualification of Barca is deserved. It was difficult to play, to make passes. They pressed too much in the first period. In the second, we got to play better.

‘Now we’re going to have a hard time. There will be others.

‘We must find the strength to raise our heads. You have to be men. We are all sad. We lost 6-1, it’s not because of the referee. We are primarily responsible.’

Lead City University Student Sentenced To Death By Hanging for Killing Fellow Student

Moshood was sentenced to death after the court found him guilty of stabbing one Seun Kolawole, a fellow student, to death two years ago.

Prosecuting counsel, and a Deputy Director in the Oyo State Ministry of Justice, A. Olawale, told the court that Moshood who is a student in the department of Physical and Health Education stabbed Kolawole with a broken bottle in the neck, following a misunderstanding between him and the deceased.

The offence is punishable under Section 319 of the Criminal Code Cap. 38 Vol. II Law of Oyo State 2000. Justice Gbolagunte said the evidence provided before the court proved beyond doubt that Moshood was guilty of the crime.

Fashola’s Ministry Is Frustrating My Efforts To Rehabilitate Oshodi-Airport Road – Ambode

Lagos state governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, says the Ministry of Works, Road and Housing run by former governor of the state, Babatunde Fashola, is frustrating his administration’s effort to rehabilitate the Oshodi-Airport road which has been in a deplorable state for a while.

Ambode made the allegations after inspecting some strategic projects in different parts of the state yesterday.

“In the spirit of the regeneration and urbanisation that this administration has set out to achieve, we believe strongly that the image that is exhumed by the decadence of that road must be repaired.

We took it upon ourselves to redevelop the road. We also took it upon ourselves to appropriate the 2017 budget that the House of Assembly should approve the total reconstruction of the Airport Road from Oshodi to the International Airport.

We already have the cash, but alas we are having challenges with the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing. This is a federal and not a state road.

The Federal Ministry of Works believes that they should do the road, but they have not been able to do it all these years” he said Ambode also lamented the refusal of the Ministry of Works, Road and Housing to return the presidential lodge in Marina to the state government as previously directed by President Buhari.
